How your customers sign up and sign in

In short

Your customers create their own account on your website at /register and sign in at /login. After they sign in, they land in your client area at /client.

Your sign-up and sign-in pages carry your brand name. An account your customer makes belongs to your brand only. For Bright Hosting, the pages are brighthosting.com/register and brighthosting.com/login.

Signing up

  • Your customer fills in First Name, Last Name, Email, Password (at least 8 characters) and Confirm Password, then clicks Create Account.
  • They are signed in right away and taken to your client area. We also send them a welcome email from your brand.
  • If the email already has an account, the page says so and offers to send a password reset link.

Signing in

  • Your customer types their Email and Password and clicks Sign In.
  • Forgot password? sends a reset link. The link works for 1 hour.
  • A customer whose account has no password yet, for example one you added yourself, types their email, clicks Sign In and then sees Email me the setup link. That email lets them choose a password.

Before you go live

Your sign-up page, sign-in page and client area stay open while your website still shows Under construction. Customers you add yourself can sign in and open tickets before you go live. Until you go live, paying is only a test checkout: no money is taken. See Go live.

Common problems

My customer says their email is already taken

They already have an account. They can click the reset link on the sign-up page, or Forgot password? on the sign-in page.

My customer cannot sign in at all

Check their account in Customers → Customers. A suspended customer cannot sign in until you click Unsuspend User.
