Your customer, Sam, opens Domains in the client area. The page My Domains lists each domain with its status, expiry date and an Auto-Renew switch. A bar warns when a domain expires within 30 days. Manage opens one domain.
On a domain's page
- WHOIS Privacy: hides Sam's name and address from public lookups.
- Transfer Lock: stops the domain being moved away.
- Auto-Renew: turns automatic renewal on or off.
- Nameservers: Change, then Save nameservers. At least two are needed. Sam is warned first that the wrong nameservers can take the website and email offline. Use our nameservers shows only when your brand has its own nameservers saved, and fills in the ones shown on your Nameservers screen.
- DNS Records: Add Record, and edit or delete records.
- Renew Domain: choose 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10 years and press Renew Now. This makes a renewal invoice. The domain renews when the invoice is paid. If a renewal invoice is already open, Sam gets that same one.
- Move this domain away: with Transfer Lock off, Sam types their password and presses Show my transfer code. The code is shown once and we do not keep a copy.
When a setting cannot be changed from the client area for a domain, its card says Ask support to change this.
If a domain does not renew on its own, Sam gets an email about a week before it expires. On plans that include domain sales, the page also has Register New Domain and Transfer Domain.
Common problems
My customer changed nameservers and the website stopped
The new nameservers do not have the right records for that domain. Your customer can press Change and put back the nameservers the domain had before, or ask you for help.
