If you do not own a domain yet, you can buy one for your brand on the same screen where you connect one. You do not have to touch any DNS settings.
Before you start
- Your Deposit balance (Billing → Deposit) must cover the price. It is the same balance as Support balance in your Owner Account. See What is your deposit balance?.
- The price is what we charge for that domain ending. It is not the price list you set for your own customers.
Steps
- Sign in to your brand admin.
- In the menu, open Storefront → Your domain.
- Under Buy a domain, type the name you want, for example brighthosting.com, and press the search button.
- If the name is available, you see its price per year. Press Buy.
- A box asks you to confirm the domain and the price. Press Buy for (with the price) to confirm.
What happens next
The screen shows that it is buying brighthosting.com. You can leave the page; we finish it for you. When it is done, the screen says brighthosting.com is yours and that we are securing it with SSL. If your website still uses its free address, the new domain becomes your main domain as soon as it is live.
The domain is bought for one year, and the confirm box says it renews yearly. Under Addresses it is marked Bought from Orvoxa.
Common problems
It says We don't sell that ending yet.
Try the same name with another ending, such as .com or .net.
It says the name is taken
Someone already owns that domain. Try another name.
It says We couldn't finish buying, and my balance did not go down
Your balance was too low for this domain. Add money in Billing → Deposit, then search and buy again.
It says Your balance was refunded.
The purchase stopped and the money is back in your balance. You can try again. If your balance went down and did not come back, write to us.
