Steps

  1. Sign in to your brand admin. See Open your brand admin.
  2. In the menu, open System → Settings.
  3. In the Tax Configuration card, type the Tax rate (basis points). 100 basis points is 1%. So 5% is 500. The line under the box shows the rate as a percentage.
  4. Type a Tax label, for example VAT, GST or Sales Tax.
  5. Click Save Tax Settings.
  6. To print your tax number on invoices, type it in Tax or VAT number (optional) in the Business details for invoices card, and click Save business details.

What happens next

  • Tax is added on top of the price on new orders and on renewal invoices, as its own line.
  • On an order with a promo code, tax is worked out after the discount.
  • Wallet top-ups are not taxed.
  • A rate of 0 means no tax line on invoices.
  • Invoices you make by hand use the Tax % you type on that invoice.

Common problems

It says a label is required

When the rate is above 0, the Tax label cannot be empty.

It says the rate must be between 0 and 10000

Type basis points, not a percent with a dot. 18% is 1800.
